Since 2003 the Colors of Concordia has been dedicated to encouraging and promoting projects that help bring about a greater understanding between cultures. Consisting of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, the Colors of Concordia has brought together Concordia University's (Montreal, Quebec) diverse population year over year. Its participation in Montreal's Tour de l'Ile has been the major fundraising initiative that helped to establish the Colors of Concordia endowment fund. This award is given annually to a Concordia student that best demonstrates commitment in doing volunteer work that helps bring a greater understanding between cultures.
In 2010, with the scholarship safely established, the Colors of Concordia Cultural Initiative Fund (CCCIF) was enacted with ultimate goal to disperse moneys ammased to groups striving for specific goals supported by the CoC. For more information about how the CCCIF has helped others, click here.
During the Tour de l'Ile, the cyclists proudly wear t-shirts with the name of all the participating countries on the back, which reflects the multiculturalism within the student and faculty population.
We want students, faculty and staff members to participate in this event to once again make it a resounding success! Bring family and friends, enjoy scenic Montreal by bike, get a free picnic and display your Concordia pride! We're looking forward to you all riding with us June 3rd, 2012!
